 U. S. Treasury Asks Financial Institutions to Encourage Customers to Use Direct Deposit for Tax Refunds

The US Treasury wants all Americans to convert to direct deposit for tax refunds.  Here are the top three reasons why direct deposit makes sense:

1.  Direct deposit is simple, safe and secure.

2.  98 percent of all federal benefits are made by direct deposit.

3.  Direct deposit saves you money.  It costs the nation's taxpayers $1 for every paper refund check  issued, but only about a dime for each direct deposit made.
